PixelEarth privacy

Short version: no accounts, no cookies, no ads, and nothing about you is sold. Last updated October 2026.

What stays on your device

Your progress (coins, purchases, character, landmarks, passport, stats, postcards, where you left off, and your in-game home, even if it's your real house) is saved only in your browser's local storage. We never receive it. Clearing your browser data deletes it, so use Settings → Save to keep a backup code.

Where you start

On your very first visit the game guesses which country you're in so you start in its capital. It uses the rough location Cloudflare (our host) estimates from your internet address, or your device's time zone. The guess is used once in your browser and not stored by us.

Weather

To show the real weather, the game sends a rounded position (to about 11 km) to MET Norway, through our small Cloudflare server, which keeps the answer for a while so nearby players share it. No other information about you is sent.

The map

Map pictures are loaded from a map tile service (OpenFreeMap). Like any website, it sees your internet address and which map areas are requested. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Visitor statistics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, pages, countries and device types. It uses no cookies and doesn't track you across websites or build a profile of you.

Sharing

Share links and postcards contain only what you choose to share (a place on the map, a picture). Nothing is posted anywhere unless you send it yourself.

Children

PixelEarth asks for no personal information, so it collects none from anyone, children included.
